What data we collect
Data you give us. When you complete the contact or booking form, call us, email us or use our self-check tools in a way that sends information to us, we receive the data you choose to provide, such as your name, phone number, email address, preferred time for a consultation and a description of your enquiry. Please share only what is necessary at this stage; sensitive details can be discussed in confidence during the consultation.
Data collected automatically. When you visit the website, our hosting provider's servers record technical data needed to deliver the website securely, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the date and time of the request. If you consent to analytics cookies, Google Analytics 4 collects information about how you use the website, as described below.
Data processed during an engagement. If you engage us, we process the data needed to carry out the agreed work, which may include data about you and about third parties relevant to the case. This processing is governed by our engagement terms and by the applicable law, and is limited to what is necessary for the lawful purpose of the investigation.
Purposes and legal bases
We process personal data for the following purposes:
- To respond to your enquiry and arrange a consultation, on the basis of steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in responding to communications (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- To provide our services, on the basis of the performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) and, where relevant, the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
- To comply with legal obligations, for example tax and accounting obligations (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR).
- To operate and secure the website, on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing a functioning, secure website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- To measure website usage with Google Analytics 4, only on the basis of your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.
We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects for you, and we do not sell personal data.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited, to understand how visitors use the website. Google Analytics is loaded only after you have given consent through the cookie banner. If you do not consent, no analytics cookies are set and no analytics data is sent. IP addresses are not stored by Google Analytics 4 in a way that identifies you. As Google may process data outside the European Economic Area, such transfers rely on the safeguards provided for in the GDPR, such as the European Commission's adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses. Details of the cookies used are set out in our cookie policy.
Recipients
Your data is accessible only to the office and, where necessary for your case, to collaborators bound by confidentiality. We also use service providers who process data on our behalf, such as our website hosting provider, email provider and, with your consent, Google for analytics. These processors act on our instructions under contracts that comply with Article 28 GDPR. We may disclose data to public authorities or courts where required by law.
How long we keep data
- Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are kept for up to 12 months and then deleted, unless a longer period is needed to deal with a dispute.
- Data relating to an engagement is kept for as long as necessary to complete the work and then for the period required by tax, accounting and other legal obligations, or until any legal claims are time-barred.
- Server logs are kept for a short period for security purposes.
- Analytics data is kept according to the retention settings in Google Analytics, and cookies are kept for the periods set out in the cookie policy.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access your personal data and receive a copy
- have inaccurate data corrected
- have your data erased, where the conditions of the GDPR are met
- restrict the processing of your data
- object to processing based on our legitimate interests
- receive your data in a portable format, where applicable
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal
Some rights may be limited where the law allows, for example where processing is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims. To exercise your rights, write to contact@ldi.gr. We will reply within one month, which may be extended in certain cases as permitted by the GDPR. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
Right to complain
If you believe that the processing of your personal data infringes the law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority, 1-3 Kifissias Avenue, 115 23 Athens, www.dpa.gr. We would appreciate the chance to address your concern first, so please feel free to contact us beforehand.
Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including encrypted connections to the website, restricted access to case information and confidentiality obligations for everyone who handles it. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, so please avoid sending highly sensitive details through the contact form.
